Cyberzone in SM Manila opensI was pleasantly surprised to discover the Cyberzone area at the lower ground floor of SM Manila when I was there this weekend. I was doing my weekly grocering and had time to go around since I haven't been there in months.
Foot traffic is good; plenty of benches for people to sit around and it are strategically placed near the food court and supermarket. It was also a great idea to put a huge chess set where anyone can play by moving the 2-ft. tall pieces around. My dad, a chess nut, told me about this because he has been going there for weeks. There's Quick internet access kiosk located at the center and all the PC and gadgets stores from the 3rd level are housed within the huge space -- DreamWorks, Laptop Zone, Excel, Micro,PCworx, Aerofone, Gameline!, Power, Dataventure, Case Logic, Techno Kid, Electroworld, CDR King, Silicon Valley and Mac Istudio. There's also a Globe business center. Parking is also very accessible; you don't need to use the service elevator when you buy heavy stuff. SM management must have learned its lesson from the Cyberzone MOA at the E-Comm building across hypermart which closed up last July. It is surrounded by parking areas but people are familiar with the place not for the Cyber zone area but for the dining establishments there (IIRC 3 Coffee shops, Chicken Inasal, Mcdo, 7-11, Savory Chiken) and Banco De Oro. Starbucks is facing the bay area; right next to it is Fitness First. If you ask people where
the PC stores are, they are likely to
point you to the 2nd level north wing which houses all the
cellphone and gadget stores such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Hello, Memo
Xpress, Mega Exchange, Netopia,CDR King along with Smart,
Globe
and Sun Cellular business centers. I bought my Dell Inspiron at the
Silicon Valley and my Ipod at the the Mac Center there. Both stores are
just across the cellphone shops. Bookmark, share, and come back :) |
