Let's talk about fashion.

Filipino designers go green

Own a piece of designer creation buy purchasing the Eco Tote, a limited edition eco-friendly reusable bag line by six Filipino designers, namely Louis Claparols, Patrice Ramos-Diaz, Jun Escario, Michi Calica-Sotto, Vic Barba and Randy Ortiz on sale at the Greenbelt 4 and join the fun run and other events at the Ayala Malls as it promotes its "Greenology" eco-friendly campaign.

Reusable designer bags

When I got there, the most saleable item  was the multi-pocket canvas tote bag by Louis Claparols and the denim bag by Vic Barba.

The proceeds of the sale will benefit the Worldwide Fund for Nature Philippines and each designer’s adopted philantrophic organization.

Apart from Eco Tote, Ayala Malls is promoting its earth friendly campaign dubbed "Greenology" through a series of events which includes a display and sale of reusable bags by Filipino designers, art installations, a fun run and fashion show from August till October 2009.

From August 28-Sept.11, a display of edgy art installations featuring junk art will be on view at Ayala Mall parks while a Fashion Show happens on Sept. 16 showcasing earth-friendly materials by Filipino fashion designers Amina Aranaz, Arnel Papa, Ana Rocha, among others.

The much awaited event, however, is the fun run on Sept. 13 at Bonifacio High Street at the Fort. Registration fee for the 3km and 5km race is P250 and P300 for the 10km and 21km. You get 50 pesos off if you bring a recyclable material.

I haven’t joined any fun run before so maybe this one will be my first.
