Laneige opens at the
Trinoma
Another Korean makeup
brand has opened at the Trinoma recently. I found out about it while
getting my Green Tea frap fix at Starbucks at Midtown Robinson's Place
Manila. They have a kiosk there, right infront of Marks &
Spencer.
Erin Boncan, Laneige operations manager, said that Laneige is the
direct competitor of Shiseido. Suited for Asian skin, Laneige, which
means “the snow” in French, took off from the
unique desire of women for crystal clear skin. It’s secret is
in the glacial water or "snow water" it uses which they source from the
mountains in the Himalayas.

There is something mystical in the way they describe this snow water
they use. Imagine glacial water flowing from the perpetual snow in the
Himalayas; water flowing down through valleys, rivers and
lakes, and heading toward the sky in the form of mists, and
eventually being reborn in the shape of pure, snow crystal.
In scientific terms, snow is a type of precipitation in the form of
crystalline water ice, consisting of a multitude of snowflakes that
fall from clouds. Since snow is composed of small ice particles, it
is granular material. It has an open and therefore soft
structure, unless packed by external pressure. If snowfall stays on the
ground for a series of years uninterrupted, the snowpack develops into
a mass of ice called glacier.
As there are no two snowflakes alike, so is every woman unique and
different. And the very timelessness of glacier water that has gone
through every cycle of purification, of melting and re-melting and
finally bottled and incorporated into every Laneige product, makes it
so much more appealing to women who desire eternal, if not youthful
beauty. The makeup brand's claim is to "awaken" skin's
vitality, boost luminosity and reveal crystal clear skin.
Laneige is a popular skin care and make-up brand from Amore Pacific. It
used to be endorsed by Sassy Girl (Jeon Ji Hyun) until two years ago.
Now, popular South Korean model/actress Song Hye Gyo is the new face of
Laneige. Visit their kiosk at Midtown if you cannot go to Trinoma and
look for Geric (0915-7977133) for a product demo.
Their most saleable product is the sliding compact foundation with SPF
25 (Sliding Pact Ex), which is ideal for all skin types. Aside from the
wonderful mobile slide-and-pull packaging, this feather-light,
translucent press powder (Php 1,950) glides on smoothly and can be used
on its own or over a makeup base.
The great thing about this Korean makeup brand is its whitening effects
and high SPF (as high as 41 SPF), which is what I look for in makeup.
Their other saleable product, the Snow Crystal Dual Foundation White
Plus Renew (php 1,800) contains Laneige's own patented whitening
ingredient, White Plus Complex, which evens and brightens the skin,
making it luminous.
The liquid foundation is
created using a new emulsification technology firstly developed in
Korea for foundation. The result? Foundation which glides on smoothly
as it is water-like yet stable and long lasting. Coverage is light to
medium.
The Snow Bloom Loose powder (Php 1,600) is a feather-light, finely
milled brightening loose powder consisting of 68% natural mineral
powder and contains Micro Fine Pearls (Snow Crystal Pearl) that not
only brightens and boost skin radiancy but also gives the face a fresh
and blooming effect. Brush especially under eyes and T-zone areas for
a more transparent and dewy finish.
They have a line of professional makeup removers such as the
moisturizing cleansing oil 175 ml (Php 1,300), Lip and Eye
makeup remover for waterproof makeup (php 850) and Multi cleanser for
all skin types (Php1,250).
The Trinoma branch is located at the 3rd level (tel. no. 345-5682).
