The New Revlon Matte Collection

The first lipstick I ever owned was Colorstay by Revlon and I find that their red formulation usually suits my morena complexion. True reds do not look good on me, I lean towards the muted red/brown colors that are subtle yet gorgeous on the lips. With the old glam look back in the runways, matte lipstick is definitely in. I’m using Revlon Matte Lipstick Fabulous Fig (Php475) and the color stays true from the tube onto my lips.Unlike its predecessor, today’s version of matte is not cakey and drying, one of the reasons why I got to so hooked on the shiny, shimmery wet lip look in the first place. But then, I am a true glam chick, so to speak, and red is my true calling when it comes to lip color. And no one, apart from Mac perhaps, does red like Revlon.

Revlon colours on with just the right amount of “crayon’ feel” but is completely weightless. The result is lush lips and color that stays on for hours. They have 10 shades from nude to the deepest berry.I also tried In The Red (one shade lighter than FF) and Wine Not (the darkest shade) but really fell in love with Fabulous Fig.

For the face, I use ColorStay Mineral Blush in Roseberry every single day and I don’t experience breakouts. This innovative mineral baked powder technology applies easily and blends seamlessly for natural looking, sheer, soft radiant color that won’t streak or fade all day.

Other products from the New Matte Collection are the Matte Eye Shadow (Php 475), Matte Powder Blush (Php 625) and the Matte Color Kohl Eyeliner (Php 535). I’ve tried their Matte Eyeshadow in Vintage Lace and Rich Sable, one over the other and then blending them in and finished it off with Kohl Eyeliner in Black Truffle.
