Revlon liquid lipstick and L’Oreal Infallible

I have about five lipsticks in my kit, mostly gifts from friends since they  know I am a lipstick freak. I am so happy with my the Revlon Matte Lipstick (in Fig) but I’m running out of lipgloss and debated over buying the new Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick (haven’t had a liquid lipstick before) or the Super Lustrous Lip gloss (great product based on reviews).

If you’re crazy over long-wearing lipstick that is packaged more like a lipgloss, then you will opt for Revlon’s Colorstay Ultimate Liquid Lipstick, a fool proof lipcolor with a built in ultra-conditioning topcoat that provides a sheer, satin coat that lasts up to 12 hours. To use, apply a thin, even layer on bare lips and wait until it dries. Do not blot or smack your lips together because it tends to clump; if it does, you need to start all over again. To remove, use any oil-based makeup remover or just plain baby oil.
I love Stellar Sunrise on my lips but because I need lipgloss, I chose the Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Cherries in the Glow. The colors of this lipgloss are bold in the tube but on the lips, it gives a nice golden sheen because of its light-reflecting formulation, plus it has the added benefit of SPF 15 — perfect for daytime wear or when you really don’t want intense color on your lips. I like the soft brush applicator. The packaging is so much like Dior and really slim that it fits inside my small purse. From its 12 colors, only two caught my fancy — Cherries in the Glow and Pearl Plum (slightly darker). I was happy using it for over a week. Both the liquid lipstick and the lipgloss are sold at 20 percent off at SM department stores.

 

L’Oreal, on the other hand, has come up with its own long-wearing lipstick, the first long wear lip duo compact. Unlike the Colorstay which has made it easy-breezy by incorporating both color and gloss in one tube, L’Oreal Infallible Lip Duo Compact encased both the lipcolor and top coat in an elegant, handy  compact/case that doubles as a mirror.

To apply:
Click 1: Apply non-transfer colour to clean lips.
Allow to dry for 1 minute without rubbing, eating or drinking.
Click 2:
Apply conditioning balm for comfort and shine.
Reapply the balm as often as you like throughout the day.

True to its name, this 16-hour long wear lipstick is as infallible as Milla Jovovich in most of her onscreen characters (Resident Evil, Ultraviolet); it resists fading, feathering yet it is satiny sheer on the lips because of its anti-flaking balm. There are 10 shades but most saleable is Rose Tattoo and Invicible Red.
